Description
Bucephalandra sp. 'Red' is a stunning epiphytic plant originating from the island of Borneo in Asia. It is characterized by its dark green, slightly wavy leaves that contrast beautifully with its vibrant red stems and rhizome. Like other Bucephalandra species, it is a slow grower and thrives when attached to hardscape materials such as wood or rocks.
Care & Maintenance
This plant is exceptionally hardy and undemanding, making it an excellent choice for beginners. It does not require high light or CO2 injection, though providing these will enhance its colors and growth rate. It is crucial to avoid burying the rhizome in the substrate, as this can cause it to rot. Instead, carefully tie or glue it to your hardscape. Over time, it will develop a strong root system that anchors it securely to the surface.
