Planting and Care

Like other Anubias species, caladiifolia grows from a creeping rhizome. It is crucial not to bury this rhizome in the substrate, as it will rot. Instead, it should be attached to hardscape elements such as rocks or driftwood using thread, fishing line, or specialized plant glue. Over time, its strong roots will anchor it firmly in place. It requires very little light and can thrive without supplemental CO2 injection.

Aquascaping Application

With its substantial leaf size, Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia serves as an excellent focal point in midground or background placements, especially in larger aquariums. Its deep green foliage provides a beautiful contrast against lighter stem plants and intricate hardscape designs, making it a versatile and highly rewarding plant for any setup.
