Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green' (Green Crypt)

Introduction

Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green' is a beautiful and robust rosette plant originating from the streams and rivers of Sri Lanka. It is highly regarded in the aquascaping hobby for its vibrant green leaves and undemanding nature.

Care and Maintenance

This plant is exceptionally adaptable, tolerating a wide range of water parameters, lighting conditions, and CO2 levels. While it can survive in low-tech setups, providing a nutrient-rich substrate will significantly boost its growth and overall health. Like many Cryptocoryne species, it may experience 'Crypt melt' when introduced to a new environment, but it will usually bounce back quickly with new, resilient growth adapted to its current conditions.

Aquascaping Application

With a moderate height of 5 to 15 cm, Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green' is perfectly suited for the middleground or foreground of the aquarium. Its bushy growth habit and distinct light green coloration provide excellent contrast against darker hardscape materials, wood roots, and red aquatic plants.
