Introduction to Lobelia cardinalis "Mini"
Lobelia cardinalis "Mini" is an exceptional cultivar derived from the standard Lobelia cardinalis. Known for its notably smaller leaves and compact growth habit, it is highly sought after in the aquascaping community. This plant creates beautiful, dense bushes of vibrant light green foliage that contrast wonderfully with darker plants and hardscape materials.

Care and Maintenance
This dwarf variant is relatively undemanding, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced hobbyists. While it can survive in low-tech setups without supplemental CO2, providing medium light and CO2 injection will encourage tighter, more compact growth and brighter coloration. Regular trimming of the top shoots will promote lateral branching, resulting in a thicker, bushier appearance.
Aquascaping Application
Due to its diminutive size and slow to medium growth rate, Lobelia cardinalis "Mini" is an ideal candidate for foreground and middleground placement. It excels in Dutch-style aquariums where distinct streets of plants are desired, as well as in Nature Aquariums where it can be used to soften the transitions between hardscape elements and carpeting plants.
