The fourth place in the world ranking (Silver Prize) went to the work "Old Valley" by Mr. Fuhong Guan of China, who scored total 1,305 points. This work was selected individually as one of the top 10 works by 6 out of 10 judges. Among them, the work was highly evaluated by Mr. Oliver Mengedoht (Germany), Mr. Albert Connelly, Jr. (USA), and Mr. Yu-Fa Huang (Chinese Taipei). Although this is the most common forest style layout in recent years, the layout composition incorporat- ing perspective is a unique expression, and it was the reason why it led to the high evaluation on average. Another factor that made this work more impressive was the successful use of Hydrocotyle. While many of the works had epiphytes, such as moss and ferns, and Micranthemum sp., this creator effectively used Hydrocotyle in a way that suited the layout composition. The choice of plants was also effective among the works in this year's contest. In a contest, the overall trend of the entries, as well as the trend of previous contests and a certain amount of luck, can affect the results, and that is both unpredictable and interesting.

Thank you to ADA and the judges for your high regard for my work. I am very honored to have received the Silver Prize. I was really surprised when I heard from my friend Mr. Yi Ye that I won the Silver Prize. At the same time, I was also happy to hear that my friend achieved 8th place. This year, due to the Covid-19 and my work schedule, I was not able to create an aquascape as perfectly as I had imagined. However, I want to praise myself for overcoming various difficulties, completing the work, and successfully participat- ing in the contest. I believe this is because of my love for ADA and my love for the planted aquarium hobby that sustained me. Once again, I would like to thank ADA and the judges. Finally, I hope that the pandemic will end soon. I also hope you all get good results next year and I will see you in Niigata.
