"Beauty of nature" by Mr. Quan Nguyen Minh won the sixth place in the IAPLC 2013 World Ranking. Using a range of mountains and tropical rainforest as a motif, this layout skillfully uses mosses to depict trees in a forest. Although its style has become common in this contest and lacking in novelty, a panoramic aquascape was successfully achieved in terms of finely-shaped mountains, good overall balance and fine perspective expression. The origin of this type of style is found in the Grand Prize winning layout for 2008. Since then, this style of layout has become increasingly sophisticated over the years. The fact that existing types of layout are getting more sophisticated every year is one of the factors as to why many judges commented that the average level of the entries has improved for this year. There are a large number of entries created under the theme of mountain landscape and therefore it is usually very hard for the creators to give an outstanding impression to judges. "Beauty of nature" was ranked the sixth possibly because its high perfection level was well received by the judges. Mr. Johnson Wai from Hong Kong and Mr. Philippe Chevoleau from France marked highly for this layout while Mr. Claus Christensen from Denmark and Ms. Karen Randall from the United States gave relatively low scores.

It is such a surprise for me and I was really excited when receiving the result. Through the layout this year, I want to describe the panorama view of nature which is expressed by mountains ranges and rainforests. To me, the harmonic beauty between rainforests and mountains in Vietnam has given me the strongest impression about the beauty of nature. Besides, I would like give my sincere thank to IAPLC organization for giving me a chance to share hobby with aquascapers around the world
