Even after considering the use of super-wide-angle lens, this work's perspective expression is outstanding. This work has a lonesome impression due to very few aquatic plants used.
"Pilgrimage" created by Mr. Shintaro Matusi from Japan won the fifth place in IAPLC 2013 World Ranking or the first Bronze Prize in this contest. It unfortunately missed the Silver Prize by a narrow margin, which was only 13 points lower than the fourth place entry that won additional 20 points for Best Aquarium. This layout created great impact with its clear theme specifically focused on expression of perspective. Besides the technique of placing silicified woods on both sides and making them converge towards a point in the center background, which is one of the most basic perspectives, this layout made various efforts in emphasizing perspective, such as curved cosmetic sand portion in the foreground, lighting from the background during shooting and fishes swimming from background to foreground. The intent of the creator was very successful and led to a high score. Among the judges, Mr. Sergei M. Kochetov from Russia and Mr. David Boruchowitz from the United States regarded very high for this layout. None of the judges gave very low score for this layout and this must be one of the reasons why this layout won the fifth place.

This is my 2nd time participation for the IAPLC. When I received the announcement, I checked it many times with wondering for this high score evaluation, maybe something wrong, as my ranking last year was 4 digit numbers, though I devoted to the layout working aiming the plate award. Now I think: I was taught about the Nature Aquarium by Mr. Haruji Takee of Aqua TAKE-E. I knew the plea- sure of layout through the books of Mr. Katsuki Tanaka. I was taught by CAJ people about what the art is. I forced Mr. Kento Shinozaki of SDA to break rocks. And TAU. And to Mr. Fukada, Mr. Ono, Mr. Watanabe, many of your advice and maxim have been deeply etched in my heart. I have full of my appreciation that I can not say by words to Mr. Noriyuki Shito of An Aquarium. All of the favour from many people is connected to this honorable award of Bronze Prize this time. I wish to express my heartly thanks taking this chance.
