Chihiros will host the first aquascaping contest. Prior to entering the International Aquatic Design Contest, please carefully review the contest guidelines and rules, your submission indicates acceptance of these terms. Let's work together to createahealthy and positive contest environment and enjoy fun of aquascaping!

Freshwater aquarium
Terrarium and marine aquarium are not applicable. For open-type aquarium, only submerged part will be graded.

Guidelines and Rules

Eligibility

*The contest is open to participants of all ages and skill levels from around the world.

*Each participant can submit up to three entries

*Entries must be taken within one year

*Once submitted, entries cannot be withdrawn for any reason.

Photo Quality

*Images must be high-resolution, with a minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels

*Images should be clear and well-lit, showcasing the details of the aquascape.

*Accepted formats are JPEG and PNG.

*Each file should not exceed 10 MB in size

*Basic photo adjustments such as cropping, brightness, contrast and color correction are allowed

*Images should not contain any watermarks, text, logos, or any other identifying marks

Original Work

*Entries must be the original work of the participant. Plagiarism or submitting another person's work is prohibited and will result in disqualification

*To verify the authenticity of winning works, each participant must retain a videoof at least 15 seconds of the tank setup for later inspection by the judges.

Copyright

*The copyright of the entries belongs to the participants(creator), Chihiros has the right to use the entries for one year from the date the world rankings are determined.

*To prevent the improper use of images and videos, Chihiros holds the copyright for any publications, printed materials, videos, web content, etc. made using IADC contest entries.

Statement

All official rules and terms of this contest will be continuously available to users within the app. Please note the Apple is not involved in this contest in anyway. and Apple is not a sponsor of this contest.

Judging Criteria

These weighted criteria listed below ensures a comprehensive assessment of each entry, recognizing the ability to recreate natural aquatic environments.

Preliminary Screening

Chihiros will pick the top 100 entries from all

Primary Screening

10 judges independently rates the top 100 entries on a scale from 1 to 100.

*The entry ranked 1st receives the highest score of 100 points, and each subsequent ranking decreases by 1 point.

The top 30 entries selected by the judges will proceed to the Secondary Screening.

*Each of the 10 judges selects their favorite aquarium (not included in the total score).

Secondary Screening

The same 10 judges conduct the Secondary Screening of the top 30 entries according to the Judging Criteria outlined below

1. Originality and Creativity (30)

* Emphasis on originality and innovation, giving a fresh feeling.

* Clear theme with well-developed conceptual expression.

* Artistic appeal that resonates easily with the audience.

2. Natural Representation (25)

* Presentation of landscapes in their natural state.

* Reasonable placement of plants within the landscape

* Overall structural balance.

* Maturity of aquatic plants.

3. Maintenance (20)

* Ease of daily maintenance and long term viability.

* Algae control.

* Healthy and naturally colored aquatic plants

* Vitality of plants, shrimps and fish.

* Absence of objects in the final scene photos that detract fromthe artisticexpression(e.g. filter hose, Co2 diffuser, in/ out flow).

4. Composition Completeness (15)

* Overall balanced structure

* Complementary relationship between plants and hardscape.

5. Biological Harmony (10)

* Natural and harmonious coexistence of fish, shrimp, and snails withinthelandscape.

Final Scores

A competitor's final score is the sum of Primary Screening + Secondary Screening
