[TheStoriesOfTop7] The Forbidden Forest - Yoo Prayogi / Indonesia - IAPLC 2016

Mr. Yoyo Prayogi from Indonesia was ranked 6th in the World Ranking with his work, titled "The Forbidden Forest". Although the style of his layout is the one most commonly seen this year, Mr. Prayogi's work was highly rated as it was better than other layouts in terms of meticu- lous creation and natural atmosphere. It is very attractive to see fish swimming in a moss-covered beautiful scenery having an atmo- sphere, which is liked by everyone. In competition, a layout is sometimes buried in other layouts of the same type. However, this work was well regarded probably because the sense of balance for "blank space", which is created by open space and white cosmetic sand. was outstanding compared with other layouts. The subtle difference in this regard has a big impact on the impression of aquascape. This layout was finely and meticulously made and it is free from excessive unnaturalness (i.e., artificial expression). We can even feel calm and natural atmosphere from this layout as a whole. One of the factors behind this feeling could be the use of many mosses and ferns, but some judges had a concern about this way of using aquatic plants. In fact, in some recent layouts, the composition materials such as stone and driftwood have stronger impression than aquatic plants. These layouts naturally tend to use a plenty of epiphytic plants including mosses and ferns. Considering the long-term maintenance of aquascape, the use of epiphytic plants is very effective. However, if epiphytic plants are dominant, aquascape may end up with a limited spectrum of layout expression. From next time onwards, we hope to see the layout using more variety of aquatic plants with an impressive use of mosses and ferns.

I had been waiting for this news for about 1 week before the announcement. And finally, on Tuesday, 2 August 2016, when the postman came to deliver a letter, I still felt very nervous and shocked receiving that letter. I double-checked the name and the address, and those were correct, and then I started to open it. I saw 4 papers inside, and on the 3rd paper I saw 6th world rank. Is that true???? I was very happy but also still shocked and didn't believe what I saw... and quickly I called my wife to show the letter. Her reaction was to congrats me.... I was very happy and proud as Indonesia's representative. I gave the news to all my friends and colleagues. Thanks to my IAPLC. Thanks to my wife who always supports me. Thanks to all my friends.
