This year as well, I was able to know the results at the same time as the world's layouters . The degree of tension and excitement is not a hump because I can understand everything from my ranking result to the Grand Prix work at once. I really like this style ^^ Thank you to all the ADA staff for hosting such a wonderful simultaneous world event . Well, my result was 20th.
It is the same ranking as 2017. I wasn't very good at growing aquatic plants, and I thought I couldn't expect a ranking, so I was happy that it wasn't the target single rank
Let's make it ~
Step 1: Ideas
Decide on a theme and composition
I will decide the theme and composition while drawing a rough sketch . Just draw your ideas on paper or notebooks and scatter them.
I draw quite a lot.
There is a memo about internal organs. Maybe I was drunk, I didn't have to lay out the internal organs. ..
The theme will be solidified as you draw
Make a skeleton
The theme and composition are decided
Step 2: Materials
I decided to use driftwood to create an image of the wind blowing. This year I also imposed rules on myself. "Show the subject clearly" . I think this is often said as a winning method for Racon, but I think it's very important. The stronger my feelings for the work, the more I want to add the elements I like, but I think that it will be easier to convey the charm of the work if you narrow it down to one . This time, I made the modeling simple and stopped expressing the depth in detail. It 's just an expression, "The wind is breezy."
Step 3: Hardscape
Start building the skeleton. Place the driftwood while being careful not to stop the flow of composition or arrange it in a messy manner .
I drew a composition on the front surface of the aquarium with a whiteboard pen. (It's a little hard to see, but ^^;)
Arranged along the line. .. ..However, driftwood with such a convenient shape is not so common, so I cut it with a saw and joined it together.
It took some dexterity to fix a large driftwood sideways and almost floating. Suspended in the air using octopus thread and cellophane tape.
Insert three rod-shaped driftwoods and support them from behind.
Firmly fixed with silicone that does not contain antifungal agents.
Seen from the side, it is in a forcible hammock state.
Seen from the front, it's just like the image. I managed to support it without obstructing the flow.
Place the driftwood according to the line drawn directly on the aquarium
Suspended with octopus thread. Adhesive once the position is decided. If not, try again.
Repeat the trial and error several times,
The skeleton is now complete. (Actually not yet ^^;)
Inject water and check the reflection condition
The appearance will change when water is in it, so check by pouring water. (We put heavy stones on driftwood that seems to float)
↑ It is hard to see due to air bubbles, but especially look at the reflection of the glass on both sides. It doesn't seem to be a problem ^^ and I was relieved to
leave it for a day
I wonder if activated carbon can do something about it. .. .. ^^; I'm sure it will be somehow!
Regain your mind and drain the water.
Making the bottom floor
Make a certain slope behind the driftwood with uneven locks and lava stones
Fill the gaps with cotton to prevent the soil from running off.
Spread the soil.
Behind the driftwood is a steep slope of soil.
Where you want to keep this slope as much as possible.
Step 4: Planting
Planting new large pearl glass
New large pearl grass is planted on the entire slope.
The crawling power and root tension of the new large pearl glass is strong, so it keeps the inclination of the soil firmly.
However, it is the first time for me to make such a steep slope with only a little material that blocks the soil
The reason why I made the entire rear part soil is because I wanted to make shadows with aquatic plants instead of making shadows with materials . Creating shadows with materials such as stones and driftwood requires a lot of space, which reduces the space for planting aquatic plants. In this work, I wanted to plant Morimori stalked grass and also make a lot of shadows, so it is also an attempt to reduce the material to the limit and try to make shadows only by trimming and the length of the aquatic plants . Well, will it work? .. ..
Mist type start
Grow new large pearl glass while keeping the temperature and humidity high by keeping the aquarium sealed. I replaced the air and sprayed it about once a day. Most of the others are left alone.
We will also plant aquatic plants in the state of floating leaves between household chores
It's a little bit every day, so it's a really laid-back work. It's a calm time ^^
Immediately before water injection.
I can still see the soil, but it's growing a lot. The mist formula on driftwood does not last very long. .. This is because mold grows easily. Weird mushrooms may grow. (It can't be helped because it's a tree ^^;)
Mold can be passed a little, but if it grows too much, it will affect the aquatic plants. Once the roots have taken root to a certain extent, water is injected before it grows strange ~ ^^;
Inject water
The roots of the water leaves have grown considerably.
After planting the underwater leaves, we will pour water where the aquatic plants have been squeezed
Place a stone on the driftwood that seems to float.
Water injection completed!
It seems that the soil does not collapse and keeps a steep slope.
(I'm still not careful, but ^^;)
Growing aquatic plants
From here
・Water change
・ CO2 addition
・ Lighting intensity & time
・ Water temperature & water quality
We will support the growth of aquatic plants while controlling these.
At the same time, observe and record the growth of various aquatic plants.
Even if it is called a record, it is just a quick shot with a smartphone. (After all, this is the most accurate and easy ^^)
Calculate back from the actual shooting date and set up a trimming schedule.
I hope that all the aquatic plants will grow to a good position on the shooting day and the apical buds will develop beautifully. .. ..
No ~ ~ Difficulty in controlling everything. .. ..
There were some aquatic plants that did not grow well this year (also this year ^^;) . All aquatic plants are picky like ADA's Nature Aquarium tank!
I want to make it into a state.
Adjust the layout
We will also adjust the layout while promoting the growth of aquatic plants .
If you shoot from the front, youcan clearly see the improvement points. I noticed that the power is not good and I am adding driftwood ... ↓
Put the fish in and check it by taking a frontal shot.
There are many things that you will notice when you take a picture and see it as a single picture converted into two dimensions
Take a picture with your smartphone and repeat the fine adjustment. There is no drill ^^; Adjustment work continues until just before shooting ~

Final adjustment on the day before shooting
The day before shooting
Make a final check on the degree of shading and omission.
After that, I added or reduced aquatic plants and materials a little , and cut out the aquatic plants that popped out.
Make fine adjustments.
The aquatic plants that are not in good condition are fluttering. ..I wanted to grow it more beautifully!
On the day of shooting, CO2 addition was stopped to prevent bubbles from coming out of the aquatic plants . The Amano shrimp will definitely stand out, so I will ask you to move temporarily. Scoop everything and move to the stock tank. (This takes a lot of time ^^;)
Clean the moss on the aquarium wall and carefully polish the aquarium.
Finishing water change. Prepare for tomorrow's shoot.
Step 5: Final
What to do on the day of shooting
Stand a black panel to prevent it from being reflected in the aquarium.
All of YUKAI who will take pictures have arrived. The setting of shooting will proceed.
Every year, on the day of shooting, we ask Katsuki about the evaluation of the work.
- What are you saying ... I'm thrilled ^^;
- Katsuki said: that the shadow in the middle is good.
- Was good~~~!
Thank you very much for your busy schedule! !! Put your hands on the backs of the big seniors in your life.
Happening during shooting (in my heart) . .. For some reason, the fish was hidden and did not come out. What should I do ~~~~!
Time to wait for fish. .. .. Try sprinkling food or calling. .. It's hard to come out. .. .. ..
When my palm was moistened with strange sweat, he came out solo.
As a result, it may have been nice to have an elegant atmosphere like swimming solo . (It may be a bit of a forceful interpretation, but ^^;)
This year's entry was also a wonderful entry with the help of photography .
This year too, he took a really wonderful shot! I really thank you!
He waits for a while and plays with his son. My son looks happy! ^^
Take a photo of your family!
This is the end of making. thank you!
There is also a making shot taken in time lapse. Please take a look if you like ~
