The development of this layout focused on the directional movement created by the lines of the Ohko stone. I wanted something to feel strong and express a sense of flow. Originally, I opted for a more minimalist style planting using only low carpet plants and thin tall grasses. However, I felt there was some opportunity to create a brighter feeling and highlight the primary stone features with a colorful stem plant, so I added a red rotala variant. Overall, I am very happy with the final look of the layout and hope others enjoy it as well. I am grateful to the IIAC team and judges for their work in making this contest a success and for their appreciation of my layout. I would also like to thank my friends and teammates with The Aquascapers Collective, whose thoughtful support makes me a better aquascaper.
