Scope. Top 5 averages apply only to a comparable overall ranking. Category and award results keep their original labels.

Selection. Use the five lowest overall ranks for each country or region in the selected competition edition. A confirmed canonical aquascaper contributes once. Country assignments follow the edition result source, rather than current profile settings.

Calculation. Add the five ranks and divide by five. Lower averages place higher; identical sums share the same nation position. No career points, award bonuses or population adjustment are applied.

Coverage. National positions require a complete, verified imported edition, including verified source gaps and declared vacant or disqualified slots. With partial data, only Top 5 averages inside the validated ranking prefix are shown; national positions are withheld. Fewer than five confirmed contributors or unresolved identity collisions produce no average. Missing years are never treated as zero.

Year comparison. Changes use the immediately preceding calendar year, and only when both editions and both country positions are available. They never skip over missing years. Chart points are not connected across unavailable years.

Current edition. IAPLC 2004 has 10 imported / reference result records. The recorded entry total is 791. These totals have different scopes.

Local preview. Editions use existing AquaRank database results. IAPLC 2026 has a verified bundled fallback. Category and award editions do not produce an overall rank average. Existing local records supply profile links and artwork. This is an independent AquaLibs analysis of published competition results.
